How Learning Works

Pupils can opt to learn an instrument as early as Year 4 through small group lessons. As they progress, they can continue with individual or group tuition and take part in ensembles and performances.

The Manx Youth Orchestra ensembles, provide opportunities for students to apply their skills in a collaborative environment, build friendships, and develop confidence.

The Music Service also offers an instrument hire scheme and access to a wide library of sheet music to support learning both in schools and at the Music Centre.

Our Impact

Young musicians from all schools across the Isle of Man learn, rehearse, and perform with the support of our dedicated team each week.

Many former pupils continue their musical journey into higher education, professional careers, or continue an enriching hobby into adult life, contributing to the Island’s vibrant cultural life.
