A fantastic day of music-making celebrating Baroque music and performance.
A baroque day to remember… Thanks to kind support and funding, the MYO Senior Strings took part in a Baroque Workshop with the UK based professional String Trio, Trio Cecilia who took us through all things Baroque. The day took students through Bach’s Air and the Cello Concerto attributed to Bach performed by Ruby Reynolds, with a lively and enthusiastic performance to parents to celebrate their hard work. Students were gifted the knowledge in their sections. Pupils worked closely with a member of the Trio who offered advice on bowing techniques, harmony, texture, dynamics, performance directions and ensemble playing. And what an impact it had! The performance was exciting and exhilarating. Huge congratulations to the Senior String Orchestra who were engaged, enthusiastic and represented the IOM Music Service so brilliantly!
