Baroque Day with Trio Cecilia

Published Thursday 9 May 2024

A baroque day to remember...

Thanks to a donation gifted to the FMYO, the MYO Senior Strings took part in a Baroque Workshop with the UK based professional String Trio, Trio Cecilia who took us through all things Baroque.

The day took students through the 1st movement of Bach’s Brandenberg Concerto No.3 with a lively and enthusiastic performance to parents to celebrate their hard work.

Students were gifted the knowledge in their sections. Pupils worked closely with a member of the Trio who oMered advice on bowing techniques, harmony, texture, dynamics, performance directions and ensemble playing. And what an impact it had! The performance was exciting and exhilarating.

Many thanks must go to the FMYO for funding this project and a huge congratulations to the Senior String Orchestra who were engaged, enthusiastic and represented the IOM Music Service so brilliantly!
